Since the RC for Karmic Koala is out, I spent the weekend upgrading my main box to Karmic. Well actually I didn't. I used my usuall apt-get install method and then went out went into town to see the film "Dorian Gray". My faithful Shuttle box spent its time upgrading itself and when I came back (or rather when I looked at this morning) the new version of Ubuntu had mostly installed.
I say mostly since there were one or two issues. In no particular order these were:
debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/ Solved by doing: $ sudo fuser /var/cache/debconf/config.dat And then killing the process mentioned. Ie, sudo kill 12345
So far so good. Like other Ubuntu upgrades everything has changed but not changed that much. If you see what I mean. I'll spend some time later playing with it and see whether its ready to wheel this upgrade out at work... (All of the developers in our group are on Ubuntu and I'm in charge of making them work ok...) |
