- Setup the Printer so that it connects to your wireless network
- Verify that the Wireless light is Green.
- Press the Tools button on the Printer. And then scroll down on the screen to "TCP/IP". Write down the IP address.
- Work out whether you have b/g Wireless Printer or a b/g/n Printer. If its more expensive, it's probably the latter. However, you can work out by pressing the "Settings" button (shaped like a spanner) and then scrolling down to Network Setup on the screen. Print the setting page. The Wireless type is indicated in the top left-hand corner.
- Download the Firmware Update from the Lexmark Printer support page for the S508.
- When this has installed, double-click on the file to mount it. Then double-click on the Firmware updater. The updated won't be able to find the printer. Instead manually enter the IP address you wrote down in step 3.
- Download the latest Printer Drivers from Lexmark.
- Install these. The drivers should be able to find the Printer
- Enjoy your nice shiny new Lexmark printer...!
