So a new new version of Eclipse has been released — Eclipse Galileo, and I just had to install it. After unzipping it I had to add back the company Subversion server, so the upgrade wasn't completely seemless. I put this down to the information on the SVN servers being contained somewhere in the plugin.

Installing connecters to Subversion wasn't as hard as the last release, which was a great relief. There's a handy guide online. On one install I think it took the best part of an afternoon to get it working as I wanted it. One annoying this is that I had to re-import my Subversion projects again. Luckily we have good Subversion practices at my company so this just took the time of re-downloading them.

So far I haven't seen much improvement, but there do seem to be some bugs fixed. One I noticed is the "navigate to" dialog box. This used to crash out on Ubuntu 09.04 (Jaunty). this now fixed. Since it's a bug part of my job as a developer I'm sure I'll find it's many quirks over the next couple if week...

Update: When updating from Ganymede with the Subclipse  added in I didn't see this. Eclipse must be storing SVN information somewhere in the plugin.
