Tags: programming | python | twitter It looks like Twitter has finally switched from Basic Authentication to OAuth authentication. I may be a bit late to the Twitter party, but I've found that Twitter is suprisingly useful. It's not just for over-sexed celebs or over-paid BBC actors tedious thoughts. You can do useful things with it as well. The only problem is that OAuth can be a bit tricky.
Read more to find a quick and dirty Twitter Python client that will allow you to post to Twitter...

Because I'm Developer, one of the things I tend to get excited about is decent input peripherals. While that may sound a bit kinky, it just means I like to have nice, easy to use Keyboards and Mice. Why...? Well, a while ago I started getting RSI in my right arm. I eventually tracked this down to using a Mouse eight hours a day.
From that moment on I stopped using a Mouse, and switched over to using a Marble Mouse from Logitech. From the moment I switched over to using one, my RSI stopped. These are really robust devices and are probably one of the best trackballs ever made. However, now Apple have made an even better pointing device. The Magic Trackpad.

Tags: java As part of my role in the $BIG_MEGA_CORP that I am currently working at, I have to deal with other companies API's. These often come in the form of SOAP services. These are often accessed via the various wonders of WSDL's. These days its quite easy to generate Jars of Classes via Maven. However, occasionally there are problems.
One problem I hit was the following Exception while creating such a jar with "mvn -Dmaven.test.skip clean package":
WSDLException (at /wsdl:definitions/wsdl:types/xsd:schema): faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: An error occurred trying to resolve schema referenced at 'https://securityservices.adcenterapi.microsoft.com/Api/SecureDataManagement/v7/SecureDataManagementService.svc?xsd=xsd3', relative to 'file:/SecureDataManagementService.wsdl'.: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: signature check failed

Tags: network | rss | snow_leopard Gosh, its a long time since I updated this isn't it..? Since my last post so much has happened. The iPad has been released, Ubuntu Lucid has arrived. And the Microsoft Courier has shown to be vaporware. How would of thought, eh...?
There's also been a new release of OS X, bring it to 10.6.4. To keep up-to-date I use Fever RSS by Shaun Inman. I've been using this for about a year and its been great. Up until I upgraded a Mac Mini to 10.6.4. And then Fever RSS stopped working. What happened, and how did I fix the problem...?
